Description Specific

Steeped in Swedish engineering history, Primus, founded in 1892 by inventor Frans Lindgvist and John Svenson has been globally recognized for pioneering outdoor cooking. The efficient Primus stove quickly earned a reputation as a durable stove in everyday use, and it performed especially well under adverse conditions: it was the choice for Fridtjof Nansen’s North Pole attempt, Roald Amundsen’s South Pole expedition, and Richard Byrd’s North Pole expedition. George Mallory took one on his ill-fated attempt of Mount Everest in 1924 as did Tenzing and Hillary on their successful one in 1953. This one was the 8th one manufactured in 1936 (AA/8).
